What a useful letter contains

If you are writing about a sentence on the site, name the page and quote the sentence. Say what you think it gets wrong, and what you would put instead. A note that says “the measuring page is confusing” is harder to use than a note that points at the paragraph about door slabs and says the clear-opening step is easy to miss. We read corrections at [email protected]. We do not promise a particular reply time. If we change the page, the update date on that page moves.

If you are writing about the publication itself — what it is, whether a page is missing, how advertising might relate to these articles — use [email protected]. If you are writing about privacy, about mail we already have, or about an administrative matter, use [email protected]. Splitting the mailboxes is how a correction does not sit under a privacy request, and how a privacy request is not treated as a comment on a paragraph.

There is nothing to pay for on this site. Do not ask the phone line to dispatch an installer or to reserve a delivery window. We do not run that desk. A seller’s delivery terms, a building’s house rules, and the manual in a carton are the documents for those jobs. We can tell you which of our notes discusses the kind of problem you are describing. We cannot measure your door from a mailbox.
