Cookie policy
We store one preference so the banner can stay out of your way. Optional categories exist for a future tag. They are off unless you turn them on, and no such tag is loaded today.
Essential
Always on once you choose. Remembers the choice. The site cannot honor a later visit without it. You can still refuse optional categories.
Analytics
Not in use. If an audience-measurement tag is added later, it is expected to remain inactive unless this category is allowed. Allowing it now does not, by itself, set an analytics cookie, because no tag is present.
Advertising
Not in use. If an advertising tag is added later, advertising storage, user data, and personalization are expected to stay denied unless you allow this category. We do not claim the site is free of advertising cookies in some future where a tag has been installed. Today, it is not installed.
What is stored
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ao_consent | First-party cookie | Stores your essential, analytics, and advertising choices as a small JSON value. | About 180 days |
| ao_consent_v1 | local storage | Same choice, so the banner can stay closed if the cookie is unreadable. | Until you clear site data |
Consent mode
Each page includes a short first-party script that sets a default consent state before other scripts run: advertising storage, ad user data, ad personalization, and analytics storage are denied. Functionality and security storage are granted so the preference itself can be kept. If you have already chosen, a second script updates that state to match your choice. This is the same pattern as a consent-mode default. No Google tag file is loaded with it. The architecture is here so a tag added later can read the state instead of assuming consent.
How to change your mind
Use Cookie settings in the footer, or the button on this page. Choosing Essential only sets analytics and advertising to denied. Choosing Accept all sets them to granted. Saving from the settings panel stores whatever the two switches show. You can also clear cookies and site data for accessonline.click in your browser. The banner will show again on the next page.
Browser controls
Browsers let you block cookies. If you block all cookies, we cannot remember the choice, and the banner will return. Blocking cookies does not stop the static pages from loading.
What accepting does, and what it does not do
Essential only stores the choice and keeps analytics and advertising storage denied. Accept all stores the choice and sets those categories to granted. On this site today, granted does not load a tag. There is no analytics script and no advertising script in the pages. Accepting is permission for a future tag, not a switch that turns a hidden tag on. If we add a tag later, this policy and the privacy policy change first, and the tag has to respect the stored choice rather than assume consent.
The banner is part of the page, not a third-party overlay. It uses the same type and colors as the rest of the publication. You can reopen it from Cookie settings in the footer on every page, and from the button on this page. Clearing site data for accessonline.click removes the memory of the choice. The next visit asks again. Blocking cookies entirely has the same practical effect: we cannot remember, so we ask.
